About Lindenhurst

Lindenhurst is one of Long Island's larger towns with over 45 thousand inhabitants. British settlers first came to this area in search of fodder in the marshes. Secatogue and Massapequa Indians roamed the land at that time and had done so for centuries. The British bought land from the Indians and the area began to thrive with the arrival of the railroad. New York came within reach and the Huntington farmers who had settled in Lindenhurst began to prosper.
